Amanda Borden
Owner/Head CoachAfter narrowly missing a berth on the 1992 Olympic Team, Amanda persevered to become a three-time World Championship Team Member, Pan American double gold medalist, six-time national team member, and the 1995 USAG Sportswoman of the year on her journey toward Olympic Gold in 1996.
She is now excited to share her knowledge and the love of the sport with everyone who comes through the doors at Gold Medal Gymnastics Academy. Along with unparalleled gymnastics expertise, Amanda brings an extensive knowledge of the developmental stages of children in her position thanks to the early education degree she earned from Arizona State University in 2003.
Outside the gym, Amanda continues to develop her broadcasting skills by commentating gymnastics and cheerleading events for CBS, Fox Sports, Turner Broadcasting, and ESPN. She also enjoys motivational speaking to young and old and is honored to be considered a role model.
Amanda has been active in the Special Olympics, Duchene’s Parent Project for Muscular Dystrophy, USAG’s Athletes Advisory Council, member of the Arizona Gymnastics Board and as a member of the recent 2012 Olympic endeavor for Cincinnati. She was honored in 2000 as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young Cincinnatians” by the Cincinnati branch of the Jaycees and their nominee and runner up for the national “Ten Outstanding Young Americas”. In 2003 Amanda received the Pop Warner Female Achievement Award.
